Commercial Building Energy Rating (BER)

From the 1st January 2009, a Building Energy Rating (BER) is required for all commercial buildings for rent or sale. The purpose of a BER is is to enable property buyers or renters to judge the likely running costs of a building, and is an indicator of the building's energy performance in areas such as ventilation, lighting, space and water heating and cooling.

Pricing for commercial BER Assessments vary widely, depending on the type and size of the property. As a rough guideline, a BER for a small unit would cost €400 - €500, with prices rising for larger units or properties.
