The main focus of the Greenloan Home Energy Savers Scheme is to create employment opportunities in local communities throughout Ireland by grouping homeowners into clusters to avail of large discounts in upgrading their properties.
Scheme Administrator Mary Stewart said:
The Greenloan Scheme is different from the SEI Home Energy Saving Scheme (HES) scheme in that groups of local residents can form clusters. By pooling together, the costs of works are substantially reduced as bulk works are organised at significant discounts of up to 40%. The only commitment that must be made by homeowners is to have a Building Energy Rating (BER) assessment carried out on their home. 200 euro grants are available towards this cost.
| Grant | Amount |
|---|---|
| Internal Wall Dry-Lining | €2500 |
| External Wall Insulation | €4000 |
| Wood pellet boiler upgrade | €1400 - €2500 |
| Roof Insulation | €250 |
| BER Assessment | €200 |

NRG Experts are part of a local cluster in the Carlow area (ID 364) under the name BarrowValley. We can guide you through the whole process from start to finish.
To avail of the Greenloan scheme, you first of all need to sign up. The quickest way to do this is on the Greenloan website. As NRG Experts are already part of a local cluster, all you need to do is enter our cluster ID on the signup page alongside your contact details. The image below shows an extract from the Greenloan signup form that should be filled in with our ID number.
If you have any difficulties during the signup process, feel free to contact us. The key points to note are that Option 1 above should remain unchecked, as you will be joining our existing cluster (ID 364), Option 2 should be checked, our ID number should be entered in the space provided, and the BER assessment box should also be checked.
